Cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies

This Cookie Policy explains how Unified Athletes may use cookies, pixels, software development kits, local storage, tags, scripts, and similar technologies on websites, applications, emails, and digital services. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small data files placed on a browser or device. Similar technologies include pixels or web beacons, SDKs, local storage, device identifiers, tags, scripts, and server-side technologies that recognize a device, record preferences, measure interactions, support security, or enable functionality.

2. Categories of Technologies We May Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies

These technologies are used to provide core functions such as account login, authentication, session management, load balancing, fraud prevention, security, shopping cart or transaction functions, consent management, and user-requested settings. Because these technologies are necessary to provide requested services, they may not be subject to opt-out where law permits.

2.2 Functional Technologies

Functional technologies remember choices such as language, region, display preferences, saved settings, accessibility preferences, or account customization. Disabling them may reduce personalization or functionality.

2.3 Analytics and Performance Technologies

Analytics technologies help us understand use of the services, measure traffic and performance, diagnose errors, evaluate campaigns, improve navigation, and develop features. Information may include page views, events, device data, approximate location, referral data, and interaction patterns.

2.4 Advertising and Measurement Technologies

Where implemented and permitted, advertising technologies may be used to measure ads, limit repetition, attribute conversions, build audiences, personalize marketing, or deliver interest-based advertising. Some laws may treat certain advertising disclosures as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising and may provide opt-out rights.

2.5 Social Media and Embedded Content

Social networks, video platforms, media players, maps, or other embedded services may place or read technologies when content is loaded or a user interacts with a feature. Those third parties may process information under their own policies.

3. First-Party and Third-Party Technologies

First-party technologies are set by Unified Athletes or on our behalf for our services. Third-party technologies are set by external providers whose technology is integrated into the services. Third parties may be able to recognize a browser or device across websites or services depending on configuration and consent.

4. Session and Persistent Cookies

Session cookies generally expire when a browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until deleted. Retention periods vary based on purpose, provider, configuration, legal requirements, and user choices. We aim to avoid retaining identifiers longer than reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

5. Consent and Preference Management

Where required by law, Unified Athletes will request consent before activating non-essential cookies or similar technologies. A consent banner or preference center may allow users to accept, reject, or manage categories. Choices may need to be renewed if cookies are deleted, a different browser or device is used, or the preference tool changes.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal. Certain essential technologies may remain active because they are needed to provide requested services or protect security.

6. Browser and Device Controls

Most browsers allow users to block, restrict, or delete cookies. Mobile operating systems and browsers may provide controls for tracking, advertising identifiers, permissions, or cross-site activity. Blocking cookies may affect login, preferences, transactions, embedded content, or other service functions.

7. Opt-Out Preference Signals

Where legally required, we will recognize supported browser-based universal opt-out mechanisms or opt-out preference signals for sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. The effect of a signal may be limited to the browser, device, or profile through which it is transmitted unless the law or our systems support broader application.

8. Children and Minors

We do not intend to use cookies or similar technologies to engage in prohibited behavioral advertising to children or minors. Where a service is directed to children or we have actual knowledge that a user is a child, additional consent, disclosure, data minimization, and advertising restrictions may apply. Technologies used solely for age assurance should be limited to that purpose and retained only as necessary where required by law or policy.

9. Cookie Inventory and Provider List

The specific technologies used may change as the services evolve. Unified Athletes maintains a current internal cookie inventory identifying provider, cookie or technology name, purpose, category, data collected, first- or third-party status, and retention period. Where legally required or operationally practical, the public preference center displays current provider and technology details, including for each entry:

  • Provider — the actual provider name.
  • Technology name — the actual cookie, pixel, SDK, local storage key, or tag.
  • Category — necessary, functional, analytics, advertising, or other.
  • Purpose — the actual business and technical purpose.
  • Data collected — identifiers, device data, interaction data, or other data.
  • Type — first party or third party.
  • Retention — the actual configured duration.

10. Analytics and Advertising Providers

Unified Athletes maintains an inventory of all deployed analytics, advertising, CRM, chat, video, payment, social, and embedded technologies. The live cookie banner and this Policy are kept consistent with the actual technology stack in use.

11. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as technologies, providers, laws, or services change. The Last Updated date will identify the most recent revision. Material changes will be disclosed as required by law, and consent will be refreshed when legally required.
